are you here on buisness?

a simple question that had me pause, yes i am here on business.  sounds so official.

so heres an unofficial update on my J-O-B!

1. Last week our PA gradually gave out, it was a slow, crackling death.  So by the end of the flight one of my crew members busted out the megaphone and walked up and down the aisle repeating the announcements.  too funny, we're problem solvers

2. Later that week, I had a man lay down on the not so clean floor of the plane and take a nap.  With his feet protruding into the aisle.  then when we told him it wasn't the safest place for a siesta he fell asleep in the lav.  not even sure what to say about that.....

3. I've finally started to get the hang of things, like where to find the limes and how to make a mean bloody mary.  I'm in Raleigh tonight and San Fran tomorrow!!

in case you're interested.....

Yesterday I made it up to NY, perfectly uneventful.  Successfully took a cab to Kew Gardens (where I live) and found my crashpad buddy, Christi, here! We made it out to Alfie's pizza next door and had some of the best pizza ever, for real.  I am loving the food here.

Today we ventured out via public transpo to Target and back, and picked up some yummy gyros and fruit.  Then I went and sat at JFK for international standby for 4 hours (in case someone called out then they would have me take their place).

No call, I was released at 21:30 (aka 9:30).  One of my supervisors was ever so kind and gave me a lift and lots of important knowhow on the way back to my crashpad.

Christi and I, ravished with hunger, decided to see is we could find anything open- NY never sleeps, right?  Luckily, we find this little authentic Spanish restaurante with live Meringue music and dancing.  We order steak with peppers, rice and beans.  so good.  so very good.

hopefully scheduling won't be lonely tonight and we'll both get lots of good sleep :)

this has been a rather wonderfully eventful week....

*First last sunday I passed my hands-on final. only 6 weeks in the making.
*Monday beautiful, handsome Solomon Georgi was born and I had the honor of being there- it was amazing to see so many people so excited to have him enter this world.
*Wednesday I got my wings, flight attendant wings that is.
*Yesterday I flew up to nyc, my new home away from home. we met up with some friends, checked out our crashpads, and are currently livin the dream.....

Have you ever applied for a Russian visa?
Pulled a emergency exit door out of a MD 88/90?
Learned how to wash panty hose?
Known the full joy the HOV lane can provide in 7am traffic in downtown Atlanta?
Been shocked and shocked again by the almost freakishly friendly staff at Delta's headquarters?
Work 10-13 hour days M-S?
Own the infamous "red book" and have read it?
Referred to things behind you as "in the aft"?

Well then, in case you were wondering, these are the things we doing in training and lots lots more.

Miss you all.
